Immigration Paralegal

Manchester, Maine

Drummond Woodsum is seeking a full-time Immigration Paralegal to join our Immigration Group in Manchester, New Hampshire. In this dynamic role, you will work alongside a dedicated team handling a wide range of immigration cases, supporting clients at both federal and state levels. You’ll collaborate closely with attorneys to provide essential administrative and case preparation support, ensuring the highest quality of client service and meticulous attention to the complexities of immigration law.

Additionally, this position includes the opportunity to support our School Law and Labor and Employment Groups, assisting with collective bargaining contract review and preparation for negotiation proceedings, as well as contributing to Title IX investigative work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting attorneys in preparing and organizing immigration cases, filings, and client communications
  • Providing clients with guidance on documentation, timelines, and case requirements

· Preparing initial drafts of forms, pleadings, and documents as directed by attorneys, processing edits and redlining in Word, and conversions and manipulations in PDF

  • Coordinating meetings, court appearances, and case-related deadlines
  • Offering support for collective bargaining negotiations, including document preparation and review
  • Assisting with Title IX investigations, including document management such as note-taking and report drafting
  • Ensuring compliance with immigration and employment law standards and procedures
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing skills, including drafting legal documents, correspondence, and reports, with attention to detail in spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and case files efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, court personnel, and colleagues
  • System proficiency: general knowledge and experience with common software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and PDF processing; strong Excel and MS Word skills in particular are essential
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing documents and managing case information
  • Motivated to learn and provide work of the highest quality
