Production Schedulers plan, schedule and coordinate all activities required to move an order through the manufacturing process
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Review in-coming orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Check that material and shop orders are created or on order for components.
- Monitor emails for request to improve or change quantities or ship dates.
- Monitor progress of all open sales orders, focusing on adherence to schedule and on-time delivery.
- Adjust production schedules as needed in response to manufacturing and supply chain issues, notifying supervisor of any changes.
- Perform other job duties as assigned, based on workload and business need.
- Review Production Planning Quotes for lead times which include standard and Expedited deliveries.
- Work closely with Sales notifying them if orders are going to be delayed.
- Working with Engineering if issues due to structure or routers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED. Associate’s degree in Business or other related field preferred.
- This can be an entry level position. At least one (1) year experience as planning, expediting or production control in a similar high mix/low volume production environment is preferred.
SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of computers sufficient to successfully use company ERP system, Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Basic math skills.
- Intermediate reading skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and interpret manufacturing procedures.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of each subordinate position in department.
- Ability to read basic drawings a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sufficient manual dexterity to successfully use a computer.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day, though possibly more when overtime is required.
- Frequently required to stand and/or walk, up to 2 hours per day, and make frequent trips from the office area to the manufacturing area.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment when in the manufacturing area, including, but not limited to, safety glasses and safety shoes.
