Title: Grant Writer

Reports To:  Executive Director

Salary Range: $58,000 - $68,000 dependent on experience, with opportunities for advancement

Overview

The Grant Writer will be instrumental in securing funding to support United 4 Children’s mission and programs. The selected candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to government agencies, foundations, and other potential funding sources to advance the agency’s missions and goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant writing, early childhood education landscape, excellent research and communication skills, and demonstrate a passion for all children to thrive.

Core Functions:

  • Grant Research: Identify and research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources that align with the agency's mission and programs.
  • Proposal Writing: Develop, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals that effectively communicate the agency's mission, programs, and funding needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program staff, finance, and other departments to gather information necessary for grant proposals, including program descriptions, budgets, and evaluation plans.
  • Grant Management: Track and manage grant proposal deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit grant reports and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Database Management: Maintain accurate records of all grant-related activities, including submitted proposals, awarded grants, and reporting deadlines.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with grant funders, including foundations, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Monitoring Trends: Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising for non-profit organizations.

Experience :

  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience in grant writing, prospect research, or general fundraising.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing grants from foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management databases.
  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector and experience working with non-profit organizations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for the mission and values of our agency.
